Second-year students from A.T. Still University-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) made history at this year’s annual Founder’s Day flag football tournament championship, capturing their first-ever championship title with a 20-0 victory over  ATSU-Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) Physical Therapy students.

Earlier in the week, ATSU-ASHS Physician Assistant students faced the PT team, with PT advancing after a narrow 7-6 win. ATSU-Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) students went head-to-head with the second-year SOMA team, who secured a 14-2 victory to move forward.

In the following matchups, the PT team defeated ATSU-ASHS Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Audiology (OSA) students 21-0, while the second-year SOMA students topped the first-year team 32-0 to earn their spot in the finals.

The first-year ATSU-SOMA student team was awarded the coveted Spirit Stick, which is presented to the team that demonstrates the strongest spirit and good sportsmanship.
