ATSU-ASHS instructor elected as American Occupational Therapy Association treasurer

A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences’ (ATSU-ASHS) Occupational Therapy (OT) department instructor Benjamin Gross MOT, OTR/L, has been elected to a national position as treasurer of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). He will assume the role on July 1, 2023 and will serve a three-year term.

Gross joined ATSU-ASHS’ OT department in Aug. 2022. Currently, he serves as the vice chair of AOTA’s Affiliated State Association of Presidents, and previously served in various leadership roles with the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association (ArizOTA), including president, board member, and treasurer.

He earned his bachelor of science degree in psychology and master of occupational therapy degree from University of Pittsburgh. As an occupational therapist, Gross’ work has primarily focused on the geriatric population, as well as those with neurological impairments.

“I am honored to represent the profession of occupational therapy by serving as the upcoming AOTA treasurer. I hope that during my time I help to move the profession forward on a national stage and make a significant impact,” Gross said.
