ATSU-CHC named a City of Santa Maria featured business

Ted Wendel, PhD, senior vice president of strategic initiatives and planning, accepts the January 2023 Healthcare Business of the Month award from Mayor Alice Patino.

A.T. Still University-College for Healthy Communities (ATSU-CHC) in Santa Maria, California has been named the January 2023 featured healthcare business by the City of Santa Maria and Santa Maria Valley Chamber.

The University was recognized through the Santa Maria Featured Businesses program, a partnership between the city and chamber which highlights different businesses that have made unique or significant contributions to the community. Each month throughout 2023, the program will recognize businesses in two categories: featured long-standing business and healthcare business.

“Not only does this give valuable exposure to these local businesses, it also reminds our community of the unique, diverse and long-standing businesses we are fortunate to have in Santa Maria,” read a news release from the City of Santa Maria.

ATSU-CHC is the University’s newest campus, and serves as the home of the Central Coast Physician Assistant (CCPA) program. The school is located in a 25,000-square-foot facility designed to foster pre-clinical education and team-based learning opportunities, preparing students to provide whole person healthcare to underserved communities upon graduation.
