A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) alumna Sierra Hobbs, DAT, ’22, LAT, ATC, has been named assistant athletic director for sports medicine at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Hobbs is a graduate of ATSU-ASHS’ Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) program, where she received her doctorate with a concentration in Leadership and Education and Orthopaedics

She has previously served as director of sports medicine at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, and as assistant athletic director of sports medicine at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout her professional career, she has also worked as an athletic trainer at several other universities and high schools, providing care for athletes in football, soccer, women’s basketball, track and field, and more.

In a release from Morgan State, Erlease Wagner, deputy athletic director and senior women’s administrator, said, “We are very excited for Dr. Sierra Hobbs to join Morgan State University’s athletic department leadership team. She will oversee a comprehensive health and wellness program to offer quality care to all of our student-athletes.”

While a student in the DAT program, Dr. Hobbs participated in the program’s Winter Institute, a four-day, in-person event providing in-depth interaction and learning between DAT students and faculty. Hear more about Dr. Hobbs’ experience at the Winter Institute:
