Straight A sandwich named after PT student benefits Operation Christmas Child

Some child might be getting a new bike for Christmas thanks to a sandwich in Straight A being named after ATSU-ASHS physical therapy student Michael Kornhoff, DPT, ’16. According to Kornhoff, the “Mikey Boombatz Chicken Parmesan sandwich” was named after a character that Rodney Dangerfield used to joke about.

“Rodney Dangerfield used to joke about his bad doctor, Vinnie Boombotz,” said Kornhoff. “To me, it kind of fit for a health science school.  Eric from Straight A and his staff discussed it and renamed it “Boomer’s Chicken Parmesan” because boombotz might have been taken as being offensive. To be a good sport about it, I told them that I was going to donate a dollar for each sandwich they sold on Oct. 9 to Operation Christmas Child.”

Kornhoff says that the special sandwich will continue to be part of the Straight A menu on selected days.
