Slocum honored with AACOM award
Posted: April 26, 2011The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine honored many osteopathic medical educators and communications professionals at its awards banquet on April 15, which was held during the association’s annual meeting.
This year’s Robert A. Kistner Award recipient was Philip C. Slocum, D.O., ’76. The immediate past dean of ATSU’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Slocum was acknowledged for his work with KCOM’s new curricula, managing change, developing fundraising support, and developing community relations.
The award is named for Dr. Kistner, who served at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine for 26 years, and is presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to osteopathic medical education.
