The National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators is a select group of educators from around the osteopathic community that are leaders among their peers in the advancement medical education. Dr. Sexton devised the premise for the group and organized the foundation of it.
“This is the first and the only National Academy,” Sexton said. “It highlights the fact that education is a primary goal in our osteopathic schools.”
The Academy lies within SOME and is recognized as honored group in AACOM.
“A year ago I was inducted into the Academy,” Sexton said. “Now to be recognized by my fellow educators, this is a very exciting time for me.”
