Remembering 9.11

The ATSU-KCOM class of 2012 held a special memorial and moment of silence at the flagpole and entrance to the Tinning Education Center in remembrance of September 11.

HPSP students wore military uniforms, and other students wore their white coats for the day. ATSU staff, faculty, and residents also were in attendance.

“The occasion is fitting for the ATSU family to demonstrate and display our compassion for what the day represents,” said Class President John R. Thurman Jr., OMS II, pictured, who addressed the audience at the memorial.

“All of us have been affected either directly or indirectly from the events on that day, eight years ago. I feel it is important for us to ruminate and reflect on a day like 9.11 in order to continue living the compassionate values of body-mind-spirit.”
