Dr. McIsaac will present her research, Walking and driving – Dual-task and multi-limb control in Parkinson’s disease, during the Clinical Research Section presentations, 2:30-4:15 p.m.
Dr. McIsaac’s research focuses on the impact of attention shifts and prioritization on movement control in healthy young and older adults and in adults with Parkinson’s disease. “Using a dual-task paradigm and kinematic motion analysis, we study changes in PD patients’ walking and driving-like laboratory tasks while also performing a cognitive or manual task,” said Dr. McIsaac. “Soon we will have a driving simulator to test changes in arm and leg tasks during simulated driving.”
