Nominate A.T. Still for Hall of Famous Missourians
Posted: September 6, 2013
Throughout history, the great state of Missouri has been blessed with hardworking, innovative pioneers who have blazed trails in the fields of business, medicine, science, politics, and entertainment. In 1982, the Missouri Capitol Society created a Hall of Famous Missourians, dedicated to introducing Missouri State Capitol visitors to the outstanding contributions Missourians have made to the world. Today, the hall is populated by the bronze busts of more than 40 outstanding Missourians who have influenced the state, nation, and even the world in a lasting and significant way.
Noting that Dr. Still’s name does not currently appear on the nominations list, and believing that he is deserving of this recognition, a northeast Missouri native and Capitol employee has contacted the University to encourage ATSU faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends to submit a nomination on Dr. Still’s behalf.

House Speaker Tim Jones has empowered the people of Missouri to decide the next outstanding Missourians to be honored by induction into the hall. He will accept nominations until Sept.13, 2013, and then formulate a “Top 10” list of candidates based on the results and other important criteria as recommended by nonpartisan staff of the Missouri House.
Capitol visitors will have the opportunity to cast their votes for the final 10 nominees, and the top two will be inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians. Voting will conclude Oct.13, 2013.
