Museum of Osteopathic Medicine awarded by American Osteopathic Association

The Museum of Osteopathic Medicine was honored in Chicago at the House of Delegates Meeting on Saturday, July 22nd with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Strategic Team Award and Recognition (STAR) prize. The AOA STAR prize is presented annually to an organization that has significantly advanced the osteopathic medical profession.

Museum Director Jason Haxton, MA; A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) Dean Margaret Wilson, DO; and president of ATSU-KCOM Student Government Association, Jenna Kuhle, OMS II, were present to receive an award plaque commemorating the museum’s outstanding efforts in implementing innovative activities to advance the osteopathic profession. Those efforts included the Public Broadcasting Service documentary “The Feminine Touch,” international outreach in the form of lectures and exhibits to the United Kingdom, Finland, Russia, and Belgium this year, and for creating the first book of its kind on osteopathic history for young readers “Andrew Taylor Still – Father of Osteopathic Medicine.” The award was presented by Mark A.
