Missouri students clean up Kirksville

Downtown Kirksville and surrounding areas were taken over by more than 90 ATSU students, faculty, staff, and community volunteers in orange safety vests, working together to clean up the city and say thank you for being a welcoming home.

Local business and community leaders prepared breakfast, and student physicians intraining got on their hands and knees pulling weeds, picking up cigarette butts, sweeping alleys clean, recycling, and spreading smiles.

“This is body, mind, and spirit in action,” said John Thurman Jr., OMS II. “I have full faith and confidence that this new ATSU tradition will grow with the focus 8 of service and compassion.”
