Maxwell is ASHS dean

ASHS Dean Barbara Maxwell, D.P.T.
Barbara Maxwell, D.P.T., has been appointed dean of ATSU’s Arizona School of Health Sciences (ASHS). Dr. Maxwell has served as interim dean of ASHS since July 1, 2010, and has already accomplished much. She had previously been vice dean of ASHS for three years and associate professor for three previous years. Her work in each position has been positive and effective.
Her academic credentials include a doctor of physical therapy from ATSU, a certificate in teaching in higher education from Oxford Brookes University in England, a master of science in research methodology from Kings College at London University in England, and a bachelor of science with honors in physiotherapy from the University of Ulster in Jordanstown, Northern Ireland.
Before joining ATSU in 2004, she held the position of field chair/physiotherapy programs at Oxford Brookes University and research fellow at the University of Kent’s Centre for Health Service Studies in Canterbury, England, a highly prestigious and competitive national honor. Dr. Maxwell also has considerable clinical experience in Mesa and in England. In addition, she has many research presentations to her credit, as well as several monetary awards to conduct research.
