KCOM students present research at ACSM
Posted: June 8, 2010Three KCOM students — Bart Worthington, M.S., OMS II, Jason Losee, OMS II, and Tyler Smith, M.S., OMS I, — attended the 57th annual meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine in Baltimore, Md., held June 1-5. Each presented results from their biomedical sciences thesis research.
Worthington presented a slide presentation co-authored by physiology professor William L. Sexton, Ph.D., and physiology chair D. Fred Peterson, Ph.D., entitled “Regional Distribution of Cardiac Output During Post-exercise Hypotension in the Rat.”
Smith, with co-author Dr. Sexton, presented a poster entitled “Contractile function during acute ischemia and reperfusion in rat skeletal muscle.”
Losee, with co-authors Smith and Dr. Sexton, presented a poster entitled “Influence of fluvastatin treatment on skeletal muscle contractile function and blood flow in the rat.”
