Henry Schein Cares donates supplies to ATSU-ASDOH
Posted: March 9, 2015
Thanks to a generous donation by Henry Schein Cares Foundation (HSC), needed dental supplies used by the Portable Dental Program and Humanitarian Outreach Program at ATSU’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, will be replenished.
Since 2012, HSC’s Global Product Donation Program has provided essential dental materials ranging from all type and scope. Supplies will be used during local and international outreach trips by students, who provide much-needed dental care to underserved patients in non-traditional settings. One site includes a veteran’s facility in downtown Phoenix. Twice monthly, dental students provide a range of services to veterans affiliated with partner agency, “Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force House.” Many of these residents have no access to dental care and support from partners like HSC, help to assist in the delivery of needed care to veterans.
HSC “helps health happen” by expanding access to care for at-risk and underserved populations globally through the support of not-for-profit organizations, institutions, and communities dedicated to increasing the delivery of health education and care. The work of the Henry Schein Cares Foundation targets those with some of the most limited access to care through a focus on three areas: wellness, prevention, and treatment; emergency preparedness and relief; and capacity building.
