Mai-Ly Duong, DMD, MPH, ’12, alumna, associate professor, and associate director of special care dentistry at A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH), and ATSU-ASDOH alumna Jennifer Domagalski, DMD, MPH, ’10, received awards at the Academy of General Dentistry’s (AGD) Annual Scientific Session. Dr. Domagalski received the AGD Fellowship Award, which is awarded to fewer than 6% of general dentists. Dr. Duong received the AGD Mastership Award, a feat achieved by fewer than 2% of dentists.
“The Fellowship award represents my consistent dedication to lifelong learning,” says Dr. Domagalski. “It is a milestone but by no means an endpoint. I commend AGD for encouraging dentists to continually strive to stay current in their dental knowledge for the benefit of their patients and communities.”
“Achieving AGD mastership is an extreme honor,” says Dr. Duong. “It is one way I can demonstrate to my students, my peers, and my patients the commitment and investment I am making to better serve them. In the words of Nelson Mandela, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.’ I hope this award empowers everyone to continuously learn and grow. I want to thank AGD for giving me, and so many other dentists, opportunities to learn and grow.”
