Jim Farris, PT, PhD, chair and associate professor, ATSU Physical Therapy department, recently completed the American Physical Therapy Association’s Education Leadership Fellowship, which is an accredited program through the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency & Fellowship Education. Only 15 fellows are accepted each year through a competitive admissions process.
The year-long fellowship included educational modules taught by faculty who were considered experts in respective topics related to leadership and administration in academia, as well as onsite meetings and workshops with mentors and other fellows in training.
“I graduated in the fourth cohort and have the privilege of joining 57 other physical therapy administrators who have been trained in leadership skills and concepts and are considered the future leaders of the physical therapy professional organization,” said Dr. Farris.
