BioMed students make science fun

The A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) Biomedical Sciences Club is making science fun this summer at the Adair County Public Library. The club has put together several scientific presentations for children and parents participating in the library’s summer activities.
For one presentation, children learned about Newton’s Laws of Motion. After a brief lesson on physical laws and an example with a water bottle rocket, kids in the program had the opportunity to make their own rockets. ATSU-KCOM students launched them using a compressed air and water launcher built by John Harper, a second-year BioMed student.
The Biomedical Sciences Club has been invited to put on similar presentations for other area organizations.
