Audiology student wins national AFA award
Posted: May 4, 2010Jessica Richardson, audiology ’12, was named the 2010 winner of the Audiology Foundation of America (AFA) Outstanding Au.D. Student Scholarship. Richardson was selected out of 28 applicants nationwide, based on academic achievement and professional potential, to win the $4,500 scholarship that will help cover the cost of tuition and books next fall.
The scholarship supports the AFA’s mission to empower audiologists to be independent and autonomous practitioners by supporting their educational preparation, professional practice, and leadership development. It is made possible by special donations from audiology practitioners at the annual Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) convention.
