ATSU’s NCAIHP hosts reception for Gila River Indian Community

In attendance were NCAIHP Advisory Council members Ron West, PT, DPT, ’04; George Blue Spruce, DDS, MPH, assistant dean, American Indian Affairs, ATSU-ASDOH; Gwen Werner, DMD, ’08; Rowin Begay, DO, ’14; and Cristin Haase, ATSU-ASDOH D3 student. Other Advisory Council members Chris Halliday, DMD, dean, Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health and Walter Murillo, CEO, Native Health, attended the NCAIHP Advisory Council meeting via Zoom, which preceded the reception.
Dr. West addressed the group, provided brief remarks regarding grant accomplishments, and thanked the GRIC community for the grant opportunity. ATSU faculty, staff, students, and administrators were also in attendance. Jim Larney, GRIC student services coordinator, and Isaac Salcido, director, Tribal Education Department, represented GRIC at the event.
