A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (ATSU) students assisted the American Red Cross in hosting a spring blood drive Tuesday in Centennial Commons, an event which collected 36 units for area hospitals.
Bryan Roberts, osteopathic manipulative medicine fellow and president of American Medical Association-Medical Student Section (AMA-MSS) on ATSU’s Kirksville, Missouri, campus, said AMA-MSS helps coordinate three blood drives each year.
Future 2020 blood drives will be in August and December.
“It’s absolutely important to give blood if you can. It’s appreciated,” Roberts said. “The Red Cross appreciates anything they can get and students, professors, and community members really pitch in well.”
