ATSU-MOSDOH students bring smiles to local elementary school children

A.T. Still University’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) and Northeast Missouri Health Council brought Give Kids A Smile to Kirksville Primary School last week.

Bucky, the ATSU Ram of Reason, was on hand to greet children as they arrived to school, helping everyone begin the day with a smile.

Inside, ATSU-MOSDOH students provided information, screenings, and fluoride varnish to about 300 students.

Back outside, our friends with Northeast Missouri Health Council provided sealants and extractions. All services were provided at no cost.

Give Kids A Smile is a national program launched in 2003 by the American Dental Association. It has provided oral health services to more than 5.5 million underserved children across the country.

This was ATSU-MOSDOH’s sixth year hosting Give Kids A Smile.
