Richard J. LaBaere II, DO, MPH, FAODME, was invited to give national presentations at both the United States Osteopathic Regulatory Summit in Naples, Florida and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)’s Annual Education Conference in Orlando, Florida this year.
Dr. LaBaere, an associate dean of postgraduate training at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM), presented information about how to improve graduate medical education from an osteopathic perspective.
Additionally, using his experience as the first osteopathic physician to be appointed to ACGME’s Institutional Review Committee, Dr. LaBaere discussed how graduate osteopathic medical education fits into ACGME’s recently implemented single accreditation system.
Dr. LaBaere was also recognized at the conference for his commitment to improving graduate osteopathic medical education by serving for over 15 years on the board of directors for both the Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME) and the Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators – American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AOGME-AACOM).
