ATSU Board of Trustees adds 18th member

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – A.T. Still University’s Board of Trustees recently welcomed a new member, healthcare executive Kenneth A. Burdick, to serve on the board for a three year term.

On June 10, the board voted in Burdick. His appointment took effect following the meeting, and his addition expands the board to 18 members.

Currently the CEO of Secure Horizons, a family of companies offering healthcare coverage options and a branch of UnitedHealth Group, Burdick works to improve leadership, profit and revenue growth. He previously worked as the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, leading the organization to achieve the highest profitability in company history and to acquire two important companies, Sierra Health Services and Fiserv. His career as an executive has spanned 28 years and two national corporations, and he has been in his current position since last year.

A graduate of Amherst College and the University of Connecticut School of Law, Burdick is based in Minnetonka, Minn. He actively volunteers in the community and serves on both the United Way Board of Directors and the Minnesota Early Learning Foundation Board. Burdick also spends time with his wife and three children and enjoys golf, tennis and travel.
