ATSU-ASDOH partners with Colgate Oral Health Network for podcast series

A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is proud to partner with Colgate Oral Health Network to deliver an eight-part continuing education podcast series, “Tips for Implementing Special Care Dentistry Into Daily Practice.”
Ann Spolarich, RDH, PhD, FSCDH, ATSU-ASDOH professor and director of research, hosts the podcast and interviews other renowned ATSU-ASDOH faculty members specializing in special care.
“Special care means working with highly medically complex patients. I think for most of us, when we think of special care, we think of intellectual and developmental disabilities. But, special care also includes people who have a whole variety of cognitive disorders, people with neuromuscular impairments, and all of our medically complex patients,” Spolarich explains within the series’ first episode.
This series covers topics such as safety considerations, vital signs and visual cues, kindness and compassion, and other considerations for patients with special care needs.
