ATSU-ASDOH faculty, staff, and students provide dental care for Holocaust survivors

Through the Alpha Omega-Henry Schein Cares Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program, A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is participating in providing free dental care for Holocaust survivors in the United States.

Arizona is the 18th North American city to join the program, thanks to the help of ATSU-ASDOH Dean Jack Dillenberg, DDS, MPH. In addition to a number of participating dentists providing pro bono care in the Phoenix area, ATSU-ASDOH provides the same as needed for patients in the program.

The program has four main criteria for prioritizing patients: financial need, elimination of pain and disease, restoration of function, and lack of dental coverage. Potential patients apply through the network of Jewish Family and Children’s Services agencies and other partner organizations and are then referred to a participating dentist.
