ASDOH holds research day

Nineteen ATSU-ASDOH students participated in the fourth annual Student Research Day on January 13, presenting their research to students, faculty, and the judging panel. The students presented on oral health topics from orofacial pain and sleep disorders to treating periodontitis with lasers.
Students who participated in Research Day completed their research at sites such as the University of Washington’s School of Dentistry and Chicago’s American Dental Association Science department.
Hemali Rajyaguru, D3, presented the winning presentation, “Development of a New Family of Small Molecule Therapeutics for the Treatment of Chronic Inflammation and Autoimmune Disease.” Rajyaguru was awarded the American Dental Association (ADA)/Dentsply Student Clinician Award and will present her study in Las Vegas, Nev., at ADA’s 152nd annual session.
Jeremiah Sturgill, D3, came in as the second finalist with his presentation, “Clinical and Radiographic Evaluation of Titanium-Zirconium Narrow Diameter Implants. A Multi-Center Randomized, Controlled Clinical Study.”
