ATSU-ASDOH faculty member speaks at the Dr. Carlos F. Salinas Dental Program

On Sept. 29, A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) professor, Maureen Perry, DDS, MPA, MAEd, spoke at the 19th annual education sessions on patients with special needs at the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston.

The meeting was dedicated to Carols Salinas, DMD, a long-time member of the Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA) and faculty member at MUSC, who passed away in 2015. The purpose of the meeting is to educate dental professionals about the diagnosis and treatment of patients with special healthcare needs, specifically in South Carolina.

“It was my honor to speak to the group of about 150 attendees in memory of my late friend, [Dr. Salinas],” Dr. Perry said. “He truly worked his whole life to better the lives of others, and was a world-renowned expert in dentistry and genetics, with a focus on patients with special needs. He served the community in a remarkable way.”
