Alumnus shares whooping cough expertise
Posted: April 11, 2011KCOM alumnus Michael Clary, D.O., ’87, associate professor for the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and family medicine physician, was featured on a Channel 10 WSLS broadcast in Roanoke, Vir., on April 6. Following an outbreak of whooping cough in the town of Floyd, Vir., WSLS sought Dr. Clary’s expertise for suggestions on prevention and identification of symptoms of whooping cough. Watch Dr. Clary’s interview. Dr. Clary was also recently featured in Our Health Magazine’s “Best Bedside Manner” awards for his work as a family medicine physician at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital. Dr. Clary received “New River Valley- First Place” by his patients and members of the local community. Since its opening, Dr. Clary has been a physician with Academic Primary Care Associates in Blacksburg, Vir. Academic Primary Care Associates, an independent affiliate of VCOM, located at Montgomery Regional Hospital, began seeing patients in 2007. The physicians and staff provide a full range of family medicine, sports medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine services.
