Dr. Danielsen elected vice-chair of the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants

Randy Danielsen, PhD, PA-C emeritus, DFAAPA, dean of A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS), was elected vice-chair of the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants (ARBoPA) at their regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 22.
Myles Whitfield, of Tucson, was elected chair. Outgoing board chair, Geoffrey Hoffa, DHSc, ’14, MS, PA-C, ’00, DFAAPA, presented the gavel to Whitfield (pictured). Dr. Hoffa is completing his eight years on the regulatory board this year.
The Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants licenses and regulates over 2,339 physician assistants. Of those, approximately 1,772 practice in the state. The board is comprised of 11 members: five physician assistants, two allopathic physicians, two osteopathic physicians, and two public members. The Governor of Arizona appoints each board member.
