ATSU partners with NACHC to form research center

On Sunday, Aug. 27, during the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) annual Community Health Institute in San Diego, leaders from A.T. Still University (ATSU) and NACHC signed a proclamation establishing the National Center for Community Health Research (NCCHR).

Research conducted at the center will promote health and wellness for underrepresented patients in the communities served by health centers. The purpose of NCCHR is to establish and encourage the adoption of evidence-based best practices for health centers, while creating interprofessional research opportunities for ATSU students and faculty, as well as health center clinicians.

NCCHR research will address the following:

“We are excited about the partnership between ATSU and NACHC,” says Kim Perry, DDS, MSCS, associate vice president of University Partnerships and member of the NCCHR advisory board. “NCCHR provides the perfect opportunity for ATSU researchers and clinicians to ask critical questions with the potential to improve health outcomes for vulnerable and underrepresented communities. We are also positioned to disseminate research findings to health centers, where best practices can be implemented.”
