ATSU’s Student Academy of Audiology participates in annual Walk4Hearing event

Kudos to A.T. Still University’s Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) who joined Hearing Loss Association of America’s annual Walk4Hearing event  on June 6 in Long Beach, California. Members from ATSU’s SAA walked with more than 500 participants to show support for friends, family and loved ones with hearing loss.

“It was inspiring to see so many people come together to make a statement about what hearing loss means to them and to stand up for a much-needed change in the way society views those with hearing loss,” said SAA member and participant Lydia Heays, AuD ’17.

The 5K – the largest walk for hearing loss awareness in the country – fund-raised approximately $52,000, which will be used to fund programs and services for people with hearing loss.
