Inaugural research symposium held on Missouri campus

Nearly 150 people attended the inaugural Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Symposium on September 26 at ATSU-KCOM. In an exciting collaboration, the A.T. Still Research Institute (SRI) partnered with Truman State University to host the event.
Approximately 45 ATSU and Truman students and faculty gave oral and poster presentations on research resources; panel discussions were held on human research, animal models, and student research opportunities; and President and CEO of Health Sciences South Carolina Jay Moskowitz, Ph.D., presented the keynote address, “Three Centuries of Collaboration and the Resultant Achievement.”
“This year’s event was well received by all campuses,” said Debbi Clubine, Research, Grants, and Information Systems. “We hope next year’s event will be even bigger.”
Plans are already under way to expand the symposium to both ATSU campuses and beyond.
