Inaugural Biomedical Research Symposium is a success
Posted: October 1, 2009Nearly 150 attendees were present at the inaugural Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Symposium on September 26 at A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM). In an exciting collaboration, the A.T. Still Research Institute (SRI) partnered with Truman State University to host the event.
Approximately 45 ATSU and Truman students and faculty gave oral and poster presentations on research resources; panel discussions on human research, animal models, and student research opportunities were held; and a keynote address entitled “Three Centuries of Collaboration and the Resultant Achievement” was made by President and CEO of Health Sciences South Carolina Jay Moskowitz, Ph.D.
“This year’s event was well received by all campuses,” said Debbi Clubine, Research, Grants, and Information Systems. “We hope next year’s event will be even bigger.” Plans are already under way to expand the Symposium to both ATSU campuses and beyond.
