ATSU-ASHS Audiology an easy choice for Robertson after welcome by faculty, students

A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) Doctor of Audiology program class of 2027 student Morgan Robertson had never been to Arizona and wasn’t sure she’d like the desert heat when she arrived in Mesa for her interview.

That day was all it took to make ATSU-ASHS the only choice for Robertson.

“I chose ATSU-ASHS because of my interview day,” she said. “The faculty, staff, and current students were amazing. They made me feel super welcome and gave me great advice. I also thought the program sounded amazing and offered some unique opportunities.”

Robertson, originally from Rocklin, California, graduated from Chico State with a degree in communication sciences and disorders. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, going to comedy shows and concerts, and hanging out with her sisters and friends.

At ATSU-ASHS, Robertson belongs to the Student Academy of Audiology, and was recently elected vice president. She is also a student ambassador.

“I became a student ambassador because I really want to make a difference during my time here,” said Robertson. “When I interviewed, the graduate students made a huge impact on me and really helped me make my decision. This experience made me eager to help next year’s prospective students.”

Robertson enjoys ATSU’s community environment, and feels great support.

“I know the staff here just wants all of us to succeed and will help us however they can,” Robertson said. “The other students have been super kind and made an effort to make us feel welcome.”

Right now, Robertson’s future is wide open, as she hasn’t determined her specialization. She is confident ATSU-ASHS is giving her the tools for success regardless of that choice.

“I hope to help people and becoming an audiologist will help me achieve this,” she said. “ATSU will allow me to explore my options and make the decision that’s best for me.”
