Alumni and students gathering during 2017 AAPA Conference
Posted: June 15, 2017
Alumni and students from A.T. Still University’s (ATSU) online and residential physician assistant (PA) programs gathered for a reception in Las Vegas during the 2017 American Academy of Physician Assistants Conference in May to hear from the University’s Senior Vice President Ted Wendel, PhD, ATSU’s Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) Dean Randy Danielsen, PhD, PA-C emeritus, and PA chair Bert Simon, DHSc:
- ATSU-ASHS continues to be the largest school at the University, now with more than 1,000 students – about half are in residential programs and half are in online programs. Many thanks to our alumni and students who help make the degrees stronger year after year by representing their alma mater and their professions so well.
- In addition to all of our ATSU-ASHS programs being fully accredited, we also recently had an accreditation visit for ATSU’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) and received no recommendations for improvements. The first graduating class from ATSU-MOSDOH held their commencement in June 2017.
- We can always use help with additional clinical sites – if you are interested in precepting or allowing students to shadow you, please contact alumni relations.
- For his dedication to serving the underserved in south Phoenix, establishing a nonprofit clinic to serve the community’s needs, and leveraging a new business model to deliver the most effective care, the ATSU-ASHS Alumni Board was excited to present Jim Ali, MS, PA-C, ’03 with the 2017 Humanitarian of the Year Award – congratulations!
