A.T. Still Memorial Library hosted the National Library of Medicine’s traveling exhibit, Physician Assistants: Collaboration and Care on our Arizona campus. The exhibit, comprised of six free-standing panels, explores the profession from its early beginnings to the present day. The display documents diversity, collaboration, and contributions to the field of medicine and patient care. The library held the exhibit on display from August through the end of National Physician Assistant (PA) week in October.
To celebrate PA week and our PA students and faculty, the library hosted a joint lecture/open house with our PA program. Michelle DiBaise, DHSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, chair of physician assistant studies, presented on the journey of American medicine and the forces that generated the PA profession, the growth of the PA profession since its inception, and where the profession may go in the future. An open house with light refreshments followed. Attendees included A.T. Still University (ATSU) PA students, PA faculty and staff, and faculty and staff from other ATSU programs.
This exhibition was produced by the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health in partnership with the Physician Assistant History Society.
