Research Interests: Dr. Kondrashov is involved in several areas of research, which has been presented through more than 40 presentations at national and international meeting and published in 30 journal articles and book chapters. His main interest is in the evolution of mammalian musculoskeletal system including skeletal adaptations to various modes of locomotion. This research has appeared in a variety of journals including the cover of the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology. The new focus of his lab is on the histology of the knee joint and the role of knee capsule, ligaments, and menisci in pain generation, chronic inflammation, and osteoarthritis. Dr. Kondrashov was instrumental in redesigning several courses taught in the Anatomy Department as he implemented several innovative approaches to teaching anatomical disciplines, which resulted in multiple educational projects that are being presented nationally and internationally and the data from which are currently in preparation for publication.
