Posted: August 12, 2019
In an effort to better support the graduate medical education endeavors at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM), Still OPTI has dissolved their stand-alone LLC, becoming a functional component of ATSU-KCOM’s Department for the Advancement of Osteopathic Education.
As a part of this department, Still OPTI will continue to provide online graduate medical education resources and develop customized learning assessment and evaluation tools. Resources include faculty development events and learning tools, a library guide with osteopathic resources, osteopathic recognition curriculum, scholarly activity opportunities for residents and faculty, continuing medical education workshops to support osteopathic skill development and refreshers, consultations on osteopathic recognition program development, and more.
Additionally, Still OPTI has, and will continue to serve as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) sponsoring institution for residency programs, both in Kirksville, Missouri, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Still OPTI works to further competent, compassionate, and skilled healthcare by providing high-quality graduate medical education to interns and residents, through collaboration with hospitals, colleges, and physicians.
The department plans to convene a working group later this year to develop plans that would further increase osteopathic recognition and meet the needs of graduate medical educators at ATSU-KCOM.
