In-office yoga improves wellness

In correlation with A.T. Still University’s (ATSU) commitment to promote a healthy work-life balance, staff in Sponsored Programs on the Kirksville, Missouri, campus participate in yoga twice a week.
For 30 minutes, staff members take a break and relax and rejuvenate through yoga and meditation led by Megan Howard from No Bull Wellness Solutions. The program promotes wellness and balance, as well as team bonding. It follows the University’s mission of whole person healthcare by taking care of the body, mind, and spirit.
“Our office sees a lot of intense deadlines and high-stakes activity, so on-site yoga allows each of us to de-stress but also to come together around something both relaxing and re-energizing,” says Serenity Bohon, proposal development specialist. “It’s really mindful team-building.”
Full-time ATSU employees are allowed three one-half hour paid fitness breaks a week, through the University’s Still Healthy Fitness Program.
