This installment features Marlene Salas-Provance, PhD, MHA, CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow, FNAP, vice dean, professor, and interim director of the speech-language pathology graduate program at A.T. Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences.
Black History Month is a way to remind us about the extensive contributions African Americans have made in our country.
Theirs is a rich and long history. There are so many historical figures that we remember during this month, like Rosa Parks, who stood up against injustice in a very visible way, at great risk to herself, and in a way that took great courage.
Black History Month is an opportunity for us to celebrate diversity and to show our respect for the work and efforts of African Americans in all walks of life.
