Dental students provide Lessons in a Lunchbox

A.T. Still University’s Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health partnered with the Kirksville Primary School to present the Lessons In A Lunch Box: Healthy Teeth Essentials & Fact About Snacks™ program. All second grade students were provided lunch boxes designed exclusively to teach elementary school children about dental health and healthy diets, and to encourage interest in careers in the dental profession.
The brightly colored orange lunch box includes a color coordinated carrot case with a rinse cup top designed to store a toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss. The Lessons In A Lunch Box: Healthy Teeth Essentials & Facts About Snacks™ program was developed by The Children’s Oral Health Institute, a nonprofit organization based in Maryland. The program is supported through generous donations from many dental companies and associations. It was created to help children to begin learning early, throughout grade school, about taking care of their teeth, eating healthy and considering career options in dental medicine.
