Posted: May 16, 2025
A.T. Still University’s (ATSU) Dreamline Pathways program received the 2025 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from Insight Into Academia magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education. The STEM Award is a measure of an institution’s individual programs and initiatives encouraging and supporting recruitment and retention of women and underrepresented students into all STEM fields. These include, but are not limited to, science and research fields, technology, engineering, and all math fields. ATSU’s Dreamline Pathways program will be featured along with 57 other recipients in the June 2025 issue of Insight Into Academia.
This is the fifth consecutive year ATSU’s Dreamline Pathways program was selected.
“Our sincere thanks to Insight Into Academia magazine for this honor, and congratulations to Clinton Normore, EdD, MBA, chief diversity officer, and his team for this program’s continued success,” said ATSU Chancellor Craig M. Phelps, DO, ’84. “Investing in and mentoring young people drawn to health sciences is foundational to building a more representative and inclusive healthcare workforce.”
“In his poem ‘Dreams,’ Langston Hughes posed a powerful question about deferred dreams. ATSU is committed to supporting the pursuit of all young people’s dreams,” Dr. Normore said. “The Dreamline Pathways program nurtures ambition through mentorship, education, and opportunity to pursue meaningful careers, including in the health professions. Receiving the 2025 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award affirms ATSU’s dedication to ensuring no child’s dream is deferred. We are honored to be recognized among such impactful programs.”
Insight Into Academia magazine selected ATSU’s Dreamline Pathways program because of its unique approach to introducing K-12 students to graduate health professions programs. ATSU partners with school districts and community-based organizations, offering experiential learning opportunities to students. These collaborations introduce young minds to career opportunities in healthcare, and nurture students through campus and graduate student engagement opportunities.
“We know that STEM programs are not always recognized for their dedication to inclusion, equity, and access,” said Lenore Pearlstein, owner and publisher of Insight Into Academia magazine. “We are proud to honor these college, university, and industry STEM programs as role models for other institutions of higher education.”
