Research Interests: 1. Determinants of ω-conotoxin binding to the N-type calcium channel. 2. Molecular determinants of calcium channel gating. 3. Effects of ceramide on ion channel gating. 4. Cerebrospinal fluid proteins as markers for neuropathic pain. 5. Determining the effect of intravenous anesthetics on L-type calcium channels in human atrial myocytes. 6. Identification of novel tri-substituted purines that specifically affect ion channel gating. 7. Mechanisms controlling excitability of the exercise pressor reflex.
