The Success Lab: Dedicated Academic Support Services

The Office of Scholarly and Professional Development (OSPD) proudly offers The Success Lab—your space for scholarly growth and individualized academic support. The Success Lab connects CGHS students with the right guidance at the right time in the areas of scholarly writing, data analysis, and research methods.

The Success Lab complements the CGHS curriculum and the University Writing Center (UWC) by providing focused, practical support that helps students build skills and apply them directly to their coursework and research.

Areas of Support

• Scholarly writing support: Develop strong, confident writing skills essential for graduate-level scholarship and publication.
• Data Analysis Support: Gain practical guidance in biostatistics, qualitative analysis, and data management for your coursework, capstone, or research projects.
• Research Design and Methods: Receive tailored support for designing, conducting, and interpreting research aligned with your program goals.
• Research Experience Opportunities: Collaborate with faculty or peers on data collection, analysis, or publication projects to deepen your research experience.

Collaborative course development

To enhance the student learning experience and ensure interprofessional engagement, OSPD provides ATSU-CGHS faculty-led oversight of shared curricula across multiple departments. This collaboration allows ATSU-CGHS to offer courses that meet program outcomes without duplicating resources.

• Interprofessional learning: Our shared courses, such as the college-level writing course for Health Sciences and Health Administration and the research methods course for DHSc and EdD programs, offer students the opportunity to work alongside peers from different disciplines.
• Collaborative learning and course delivery: By offering shared curricula, we ensure an interprofessional classroom environment led by accomplished faculty, ensuring meaningful learning experiences. This approach fosters collaboration between departments, interprofessional student collaboration and learning, and a more connected and cohesive learning environment for all ATSU-CGHS students.

Interdisciplinary research and grant initiatives

OSPD plays a pivotal role in fostering cross-department collaboration in student research, grant writing, and faculty-led curriculum development.

• Research collaboration: We facilitate opportunities for ATSU-CGHS students and faculty to work together on interdisciplinary research projects that align with the academic goals of the College.
• Grant support: Students are encouraged to participate in a faculty-led grant activity where appropriate, gaining valuable experience in academic research and funding initiatives. This collaborative approach strengthens the overall research output of ATSU-CGHS and enhances student engagement in scholarly work.
