“I began seeing familiar things from a new perspective.”
It was not always part of my life plan to obtain a DAT degree. I happened to hear about ATSU’s DAT program through a friend at work, who was enrolled in the program and spoke very highly of it. Because I felt that the degree would prepare me for my career goal of gaining a director position, I soon enrolled.
While taking a full course load for the DAT, I have been able to maintain my full-time job, which has made the program financially feasible.
The most instrumental parts of the curriculum for me and my career path include an in-depth understanding of movement quality and rehabilitation, healthcare as a systems approach, and data as a clinical necessity.
The DAT has not only improved my evaluation and rehabilitation skills, but most dramatically, it has improved my ability to think critically. I began seeing familiar things from a new perspective. I began challenging things I never thought twice about.
