As a new clinician working in a secondary school, I chose to continue my education at ATSU after earning my Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) for several reasons. Some of the key factors included opportunities for career advancement, a salary increase, individualized guidance with my applied research project, and, of course, why not? I was already halfway there. Not only are the elective paths interesting and relevant to my current practice, but they also help me develop new career opportunities. Additionally, the faculty and staff are incredible. They are true subject matter experts in their respective fields and have proven to be invaluable resources for my practice. The Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) faculty truly live by their saying and have met me where I am, providing the support I need to succeed, even as I navigate the challenges of balancing work, school, personal commitments, and family emergencies. Continuing my education at ATSU has been one of the best decisions of my career. This experience has reshaped my perspective as a clinician and deepened my appreciation for the athletic training profession. As a DAT student, I am gaining the tools to create meaningful change in my practice, my profession, and my community. I feel empowered to never settle for anything less than what my patients and the field of athletic training truly deserve.
