Transitional Degree Program - Distance Education
The transitional D.P.T. program is designed for practicing physical therapists already holding a bachelors or masters degree who wish to enhance their skills and professional status. The length of each student’s plan of study depends upon their current level of education, experience, and skills as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association’s “Normative Model of Physical Therapist Professional Education, Version 2000” and an evaluation using an extesive portfolio. All curriculum plans of study include pharmacology, radiology, evidence-based practice, wellness, and gender healthcare. Programs are also available for non-U.S. trained physical therapists seeking the D.P.T. or initial licensure.
The program uses the Internet to provide frequent, high-quality peer/faculty interaction. All course information is posted on the Internet web site, a centralized interaction portal for students, instructors, facilitators, and program administrators. This includes all assignments and quizzes. It also contains bulletin boards (forums), live online discussion sessions (chats), and direct e-mail to the faculty and staff. The curriculum includes integrated clinical practice experiences to supplement and enhance online instructions.
Non-US educated, Non-degree seeking option
Non-U.S. trained physical therapists who are licensed in the United States are eligible for admission into the transitional degree program. Applicants must submit a valid educational credential review indicating an equivalent U.S. baccalaureate degree in addition to other application materials. More info...
