Program Overview

SHM's Master of Health Education (M.H.Ed.) program prepares you to be a practitioner and leader in the field of health education. As a health educator, you will use a systematic process based on current learning theory to plan, design, implement, and evaluate effective program and course offerings. This program provides you with in-depth pedagogical training and equips you for effective teaching, mentoring, and leadership. The audience for this program is varied by design and includes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and other practitioners, as well as faculty and staff who work in the healthcare field.

Near the end of your program, you are required to complete a four-day residency on ATSU's Kirksville, Mo., campus. This residency is an opportunity to seek additional guidance from onsite faculty and staff and to finalize and present your terminal project.
