North Country HealthCare provides access to affordable and quality healthcare across Northern Arizona. This nonprofit organization is based in Flagstaff and operates numerous clinics across Northern Arizona. North Country HealthCare understands the need for primary healthcare and offers a comprehensive variety of primary care and enabling community health center services. The range of services includes family medicine, preventative health services, dental care, ob/gyn and pediatrics, pharmacy, integrative medicine, disease management, mental health services, radiology, many community health and outreach programs, and health professions/ medical education. At North Country HealthCare, patients are able to receive care on a sliding- fee scale, and healthcare is accessible regardless if patients are uninsured.

A. T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-SOMA) program is centered on the patient’s needs, and students are prepared through their experience at North Country HealthCare to better serve the community in which they are working. Learning in this environment allows SOMA students to become grounded in the community surrounding Flagstaff and to be able to contribute much more by truly understanding their patients.

“Healthcare centers like this one are the premier, quality providers in the United States,” says Gary Cloud, Ph.D., associate dean, SOMA. “Community health centers like North Country HealthCare are in the business of making the community a better place. Community health centers are continually growing and expanding to meet the needs of the communities they serve.”
